Yamaha Xt 125 Silencers?
Does anyone know where i can get cheap silencers for an xt 125? i don 't like the default one and i want it to sound better and hopefully get better performance from it. (Read answers)

1998 Yamaha Xt Problems?
I just bought a used xt with 1016 miles but there 's a few things that are iffy about it. problem #1 - when i accelerate the lights brighten problem #2 - it seems like the bike acceleration is really choppy (i 'll hold the throttle steady when accelerating but the bike hesitates/ accelerates then decelerates) unless i full bore it and keep shifting. also how many rpm 's should i shift at? thanks.i tested the battery and it read at around 12.3-12.4 idk if that 's normal. as for the choppy acceleration i put in a new plug and new premium gas and it did help a lot but it still jumps about 500rpms in both directions while backfiring, any ideas? (Read answers)
Anyone Know Anything About 1999 Yamaha Xt 350 Dual Sport?
I was lookin at maybe buying one of these. i like to ride around in the summer on trails, and i think it would also be nice cause they are street legal and would save me money on gas.the one im looking at has 1800 miles. he is selling for $1500. needs no service or maintenance, ready to ride. just need a little help to know if it is a good buy, or if there are any problems it might have in the future.like i said, i like to ride trails, no serious jumping but maybe occasional, and i will use it to commute. also curious how fast they will go and how many horse 's they got.thanks (Read answers)

I 'm after an on road/ off road motorcycle. i 've been looking at yamaha xt 's simply because that is what i have owned before, i like them and find them very reliable. however i am open to looking at other models of this bike genre can anyone suggest others to look at. preferably yamaha though honda would be okay, unfortunately where i hope to go suzuki and kawasaki parts are extremely hard to get. i 'm looking at around 500cc so anything 250 - 650cc. as for year, 1985 - 2000. suggestions please. Just o have the following checked, what would be a reasonable price to expect:check alternator/ batterycheck carburator/ gas leakclean engineflush fluidscheck tirescheck/ reset idle speed..just to have those things check on for functionability what would be a fair price?alternately, what could i expect to pay, within reason, to have all of that work performed?it 's been sitting a while(4 years), will not hold charge, has a gas leak and when i do get it running, lots of carbon build up blows from the muffler. i replaced the old battery, and the new one still would not hold charge. gas drips from the flood tube which comes from the carburator, but only at a certain tank level, like when it 's above half way full it leaks gas from theflood tube. also, what can i expect to pay(sepperate from above) to have a stealth muffler system installedheadlight control (on/ off not just high and low) switch installedkick-starter installed? (Read answers)

My 1984 Yamaha Xt 250 Has A Lot Of Trouble Starting?
I know its an old bike but i really want to be able to start it in less then 30 mins. o.k. i got it about 2 years ago and i could kick start it but it still took a while. last year it wouldnt kick start any more i had to pop it. now its bad. so i went to the yamaha shop down the road and got a new spark plug since the one in it was really old. i also had to change the air filter because it was ripped. the carborator was cleaned about 2 years ago too. after i changed the spark plug and air filter i still had to pop it into gear to start it. and its getting worse. i try it on big hills and it putts until the tire locks up and sometimes backfires. any ideas. im gonna clean the carborator again but any other ideas?
